Do I need anything from my own kitchen?

Everything boba-specific is in the box. You add cups, ice and the milk you like.

How long does it take to make?

Hands-on making is around 15 minutes, waiting is around 30. The waiting is the boba pearls cooking and the tea chilling while you get on with something else.

Every step is in the guide in your box, timings written out.
Start the boba pearls, put something on, come back when the timer goes off.
The shaking, the pouring and deciding whose cup looks best is the part kids ask for.

And it somehow tastes better when you made it yourself.

Do I need to make a whole pack at once?

Yes, a pack makes one full round of 8 drinks. That is the ratio we pour at the cafe, and it is what makes it taste like the shop.

Eight at a time is part of why a cup lands near $2 instead of cafe prices.

How long does the kit last?

Months in the pantry, sealed.

Boba pearls, sealed as shipped: 8 to 12 months.
Boboza flavor mixes, sealed as shipped: up to 2 years.
Once you cook the boba pearls: best within about 5 hours, while they are still chewy.

What are your shipping times?

Your box leaves our San Diego cafe within 1-2 business days. We pack every kit by hand in Pacific Beach.

Most US addresses get it 3-5 business days after it ships, so roughly a week from the day you order.
Shipping is free on every subscription. On a one-time order it is $4.90, $6.90 or $9.90 depending on your kit size.
A tracking number lands in your inbox the moment the box leaves us.

The boba pearls travel dry and sealed, so the trip never touches how they cook. They come out chewy whether the box took three days or five.

We're Pacific Bean Cafe, a little spot by the beach in San Diego. The San Diego Union-Tribune named us the #1 indie coffee shop in California, which is lovely, except you have to be here to taste it.

So we spent a long time and a lot of batches learning how to fit our counter into a box. The 12 drinks our regulars line up for now come as kits, with the same boba pearls, the same recipes and the same little bit of show.
